This week Minneapolis prepares to welcome two of the biggest names in triathlon in celebration of the U.S. launch of the popular TriStar111 race format. Two-time Ironman World Champion and “Athlete of the Decade” Chris McCormack (MACCA) will race in a match up with Maik Twelsiek, second place finisher in the 2011 Ironman Coeur D’Alene.The Aussie and German will race in the first U.S. TriStar111 race held in Maple Grove in conjunction with the Maple Grove Triathlon: Dare to TRI on Saturday, August 27 in Weaver Lake Park.
Triathlon fans and friends are invited to meet Macca this Thursday at Urban Tri, sponsor of the TriStar111 Minnesota $10,000 PRO cash purse.
